Jo has more than 20 years of risk advisory experience, providing internal audit and controls, policy and procedure development, risk management, investigative audits, process reviews, and financial statement audits across a wide range of industries. Prior to joining Grant Thornton, she was an Associate Partner at one of Big 4 accounting firms, with a history of progressive leadership roles at the firm.
Jo has led and managed a diverse portfolio of client engagements, including complex projects, while delivering high‑quality consulting services in governance, internal audit, and internal controls for sectors such as property development, manufacturing, FMCG, education, semiconductors, hospitality, and logistics.
In addition, she has designed and executed strategic initiatives to strengthen client relationships and support sustainable business growth. She has worked closely with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions aligned with client objectives and regularly presents insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders to support informed decision-making and improved governance practices.
Jo has also assisted more than 15 companies with internal controls reviews for listing purposes in Singapore, Hong Kong, and the United States, ensuring compliance with listing requirements and identifying opportunities for improvement to reinforce corporate governance.
Beyond client engagements, Jo has made significant contributions to industry development. She collaborated with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), Singapore Exchange (SGX), Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA), and Singapore Institute of Directors (SID) to develop the Nominating Committee Guide for Boards of Listed Companies in Singapore.
She also contributed to the Guide to Internal Review of Sustainability Reporting, published by the Institute of Internal Auditors, and has actively conducted training sessions on sustainability reporting reviews.
Jo's commitment to capability-building extends to facilitating workshops for clients and staff, helping strengthen their skills and knowledge in governance, risk management, and internal controls.
