Key responsibilities
Audit Methodology & Quality
- Assist with maintaining and updating audit methodology, tools, templates, and guidance in line with professional standards and internal requirements.
- Assist in the rollout and implementation of updates arising from changes in auditing or accounting standards and firm-wide quality initiatives.
- Provide practical guidance to engagement teams on the application of audit methodology and quality-related matters.
- Provide support for ad hoc queries related to the audit engagement tool, leveraging assistance from the technical support team.
Performing Audit Engagements
- Manage audit engagements to perform key audit procedures, ensuring compliance with methodology, ISA, and accounting standards.
- Review working papers prepared by junior team members and ensure documentation is complete and accurate.
- Lead in engagement planning, risk assessment procedures, and execution of audit work in complex areas where required.
Technical Consultation
- Provide technical advice to engagement teams on audit and accounting matters, escalating more complex issues to senior team members when appropriate.
- Support the review of technical memos, accounting analyses, and audit conclusions to ensure compliance with ISA, methodology, and IFRS.
- Address methodology-related queries, including issues identified during hot file reviews.
- Support engagement teams in addressing technical and accounting issues encountered during the audit.
Engagement Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Perform hot file reviews on selected engagements, identify areas for improvement, and support teams in implementing action plans.
Work with audit leadership to reinforce audit quality expectations and promote a strong quality culture across the practice.
Training & Development
- Deliver training sessions and workshops on topics such as audit methodology, accounting standards, audit tool usage, and quality requirements.
- Prepare, review and deliver training on updates to GTI’s audit methodology, accounting guidance, tools, templates, and guidance
Requirements
- Recognised Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting, Finance, Business or other related fields.
- To have overall audit experience of 7-8 years with a preference for candidates with 2-3 years in audit methodology, audit quality or a similar technical role.
- Should have exposure to complex accounting matters (such as consolidation, business combination, leases, revenues, share-based payments, financial instruments etc.) either in an audit manager role or an audit technical role.
- Strong understanding of ISA, IFRS, and audit methodology.
- Hands-on experience in performing audit engagements and reviewing audit work.
- Good communication skills with the ability to explain technical matters clearly to engagement teams.
- Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders.
