The team

The team helps businesses with their financial reporting and accounting needs in all areas of the business lifecycle. The team works across a wide range of industries, to advise clients on matters such as interpretation and implementation of standards, preparation, and consolidation of financial statements, and for accounting for business transactions.

Responsibilities

As an Associate Director with our Financial Reporting Advisory Services (FRAS) team focusing on Environmental, Social and Governance reporting, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Drive the strategic Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) business function and lead the business development on ESG related engagements
  • Provide advice and subject matter expertise to leadership and clients on prioritized sustainability topics, policies and frameworks
  • Drive opportunities and business leads for clients’ adoption of leading sustainability reporting standards, publishing of sustainability-related reports and consolidation into shareholder’s sustainability reporting
  • Develop clients’ proposals and participate in presentations and business pitches
  • Lead in the sustainability reporting development process, including Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) and Global Reporting Initiative (GRI)
  • Benchmarks and aligns metrics with global standards and best practices
  • Engage and collaborate with relevant stakeholders and clients on research and reporting sustainability-related performance
  • Implement and lead in firmwide Service Lines strategic projects with relevant sustainability expertise
  • Monitor international and regulatory developments on ESG, climate, impact and other sustainability disclosure policies, and provide timely advice on international initiatives
  • Generate insights that enable sustainability for clients to identify risk hotspots, measure progress and communicate value
  • Engage in and support thought leadership activities on sustainability-related measurements, reporting and data

Qualifications and skills:

  • More than 8 years of experience working with ESG reporting, advisory or measurement and/or corporate climate and environment
  • Degree or equivalent in Finance, Sustainability, Environmental Science, Climate Studies, Business Management or similar
  • Well-versed in relevant sustainability/ESG reporting frameworks and guidelines such as SASB, GRI and TCFD, as well as awareness of trends in reporting requirements. Experience with SGX reporting requirements is beneficial
  • Knowledge and experience with international environmental policies and accounting standards such as the GHG Protocol
  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards will be advantageous
  • Strong understanding of relevant topics, such as climate science, international climate/environment policy development, climate risk assessment, and renewable energy
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical ideas in easy-to-understand terms
  • Ability to initiate new business development and developing potential opportunities into new engagements
