We are looking for an energetic, friendly and vibrant director specialising in GST and indirect taxes. We would expect the director to demonstrate depth of technical knowledge in their own specialist area. In addition, we would expect the director to have a broad understanding of wider tax and business issues.  The individual can both develop the business and lead a diverse team in demanding assignments on a day to day basis. We are looking for an individual seeking career advancement to a partner in our taxation services practice.

Responsibilities include planning, directing, and completing Singapore compliance and advisory indirect tax assignments. The director will have strong technical, analytical and advisory skills and, ideally, be an Accredited Tax Advisor for GST with SIATP Level 3.  The director must possess project management skills and be able to work on supply chain and tax planning assignments with other specialists in the regional and global indirect taxes network within Grant Thornton member firms. The director will:

  • Operate at an expert level in his/her field and be regularly sought for advice, both technical and strategic
  • Set the tone for how we operate, embracing and promoting our core values and our signature behaviours
  • Act as a brand ambassador and actively build the firm’s reputation
  • Develop and implement plans to deliver strategy
  • Proactively seek out drive out business development opportunities to grow the firm
  • Lead and motivate others to develop and grow
  • Manage risk and consult effectively with the appropriate specialists within the firm
  • Actively lead operational efficiency and financial performance

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Proven technical skills
  • Recoginsed Degree and/or relevant professional qualification in Accounting or Tax
  • Min 10-12 years of relevant experience in the indirect tax field 
  • Leadership competence
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and written skills
  • Ability to coach and develop teams
  • IT proficient
  • Proven experience in team management capacity
  • High proficiency in MS Office
  • Singapore residency and be able to work in Singapore
