Vinod joined the Grant Thornton network in 2006 He strongly believes that professionalism and potential for growth are the two reasons why Grant Thornton was the best place to start his career. In his tenure with the firm, he has led several audit engagements across a number of industries.
He specialises primarily in audits under IFRS and Indian GAAP. His experience makes him a specialist in complex areas such as revenue recognition, business combinations and employee stock options.
He also has significant experience with group audits and with offshore service centres for centralised bookkeeping. He closely works with network firms in the region to provide seamless solutions to his clients
In January 2018, Vinod joined Grant Thornton in Singapore to manage the India-Singapore trade corridor. He has a profound understanding of cultural and business dynamics in India to manage a variety of stakeholders ranging from start-ups to privately held businesses.
Vinod is an instinctively accepting person and believes that work can be fun, and that no matter what the setbacks are, one must never lose their sense of humour.
Vinod’s core specialisation and interests are in servicing the technology sector. He has worked with a number of clients in the business of:
- Software products (On-premise and SaaS)
- IT enables services (IOT, advertising, hospitality etc)
- ecommerce platforms
- Data analytics
He has also worked with a number of micro finance companies in India and advised them with complex areas such as debt vs equity classification of financial instruments, de-recognition of financial assets (securitization), modelling allowances on NPAs and compliance with RBI regulations.
He also led audit engagements in his tenure with the firm across the following industries:
- Clinical research
- Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
